What to Expect in an Iyengar Yoga Class
In Iyengar Yoga, teachers thoughtfully adapt traditional postures through careful observation and the use of props. This approach allows students to access the poses more deeply and hold them longer.

Classes include clear demonstrations, detailed explanations, and personalized corrections or adjustments.

Students typically begin with foundational standing poses, and as they progress, they are gradually introduced to inversions.
Classes include forward bends, backbends, twist, inversions, and restorative poses. Each session closes with Savasana, where students learn to relax deeply, and connect to a sense of inner peace.

As students grow in their practice, pranayama (breath control) is introduced.

Developing a personal practice outside of class is strongly encouraged, as it is essential for a complete and meaningful study of yoga.
